Pros

Working with artists and producers made for a fun environment change. The mix of creative and technical people produces a more exciting atmosphere.

Not quite using bleeding-edge technology, but not far behind. They like to throw parties frequently, and there are more perks if you're a direct employee versus a contractor.

Cons

Upper management, like in many places, makes decisions on what they want without gathering all the knowledge they need to make a truly informed decision.

If you're a contractor, you only get 6-month extensions up to 18 months. After that, they either have to hire you or let you go (IRS rule).

Advice to Management

Interact with the working stiffs. Seek input. It's amazing what you don't know!
