Pros

Working in and around the parks is exciting and always changing.

I did not expect long hours of overtime in my department (a welcome change from my previous employer).

The Disney brand is recognized and respected worldwide.

Cons

Working at Disney, you really need to love Disney to make up for the inferior pay (took a 25% pay cut post-taxes to go to Disney from a city with similar living expenses).

The quality of the engineers was hit or miss, disappointing after coming from another highly regarded company. I saw some questionable decisions made that came from a lack of engineering common sense.

Orlando is not exactly the gem of Florida, but that is only an opinion.

Advice to Management

Increase pay and benefits, and make other changes to attract top-level employees. The best employees will not work for Disney simply because of the brand alone.
