• 1 Phone Interview - Went over a coding question.
• 4 Onsite (Zoom) interviews - 3 coding and 1 Design + Coding.

All the coding rounds went well, and some of the interviewers asked a second question as they wrapped up the first one sooner. The interviewers who asked a second question didn't seem prepared for it.

I must say that I did not enjoy the design round with the Engineering Director for the following reasons:

• The constraints imposed seemed unnecessary and artificial (atypical to how you would design such systems), especially considering the interview was remote and design conversations can be tricky.
• I was expected to produce code. This is atypical considering the level I am being interviewed for, and all the other 3 interviews were just focused on coding.
• Almost no questions about my experience.
• The conversation was one-way. I interview a lot of candidates myself and expect candidates to lead design conversations; however, I would interrupt if I felt the conversation was going the wrong way, if the candidate wasn't covering the topics I wanted, or if I wanted to delve into the details of a topic. None of that happened here. This should be the round I didn't do well in.

Considering the interviews were team-specific, I would have declined the offer had I received one.

Expect to write a lot of code throughout.
