The first interview was a phone call with a Senior Manager, which was mostly an informational call.

An online coding interview followed with a Senior Software Engineer, featuring easy/medium level questions.

The full interview loop consisted of five interviews at DoorDash HQ in San Francisco:

• System design
• Management
• Coding
• Product management

Overall, the interviews were well-handled, on time, and smooth.

Here is one super strange thing...

My strongest interview was the system design part. It was the only interview that I felt 150% positive about. The interviewer was a Senior Manager, and his last words to me were that I gave the best answer he had ever received and that he would recommend hiring me. Just like that.

When the recruiter called and told me that the team was very positive but my system design interview did not meet their standard, I was rather surprised.
