When I read the interview reviews at DoorDash, I was surprised that most were negative. After I went through this process, I am not surprised. It's not a company to work for.
I went through just two phone screens. I gave my phone number to the recruiter, and they gave the wrong number to both interviewers.
With the first interviewer, I didn't get called after 15 minutes and pinged back to find out the interviewer didn't have the correct number. Then, I told the recruiter specifically about the "wrong" phone number, but my second interviewer (two weeks later) still had the wrong number, which I pinged him directly about again.
Describe the project's architecture.
The interviewer spent the majority of their time challenging why my team built the service instead of the centralized data team handling it. They just didn't understand that each company and organization is set up differently. They were very assertive that storing and presenting data should come from one team.
To save money, I implemented one optimization to not store non-valuable data, and they were not understanding that either. They value data very much and wanted to store any data.
Good luck, DoorDash, in having such a mindset that could blow off your budget.
