I applied for the position through LinkedIn. They called me the next day and set up a one-hour coding challenge interview with another developer.
When I joined the Zoom meeting, the developer greeted me, and it immediately started a coding challenge, which was a bit weird how rushed it was. The developer basically read through the description for the coding challenge and asked me to start coding.
What was annoying was that whenever I didn't write the way he wanted me to code, he kept stopping me and asked me how to improve my code. This was quite annoying because I kept getting interrupted and forgetting what I was trying to do. The way he wanted me to code wasn't any better way to write.
I finished the coding on time, and he said it looked good. A few hours later, I received a basic template rejection letter.
It seems very unprofessional to just start a coding challenge before getting to know your candidate. Also, constantly interrupting while coding is not acceptable. Your way is not the only way everyone should write code.
Easy HackerRank question, and that was it.
