First, there was a very easy technical screen, involving implementation of business logic, which only took me about 15-20 minutes of the allotted 1 hour to complete. It was then arranged for me to participate in a virtual onsite.

The recruiter contacted me to let me know they'd changed my schedule the night before, without further explanation. Although a lot of the interviewers had changed, the timetable wasn't very dissimilar to the original schedule, so I went along with it.

The virtual onsite was composed of a design session, a technical deep dive of a feature I worked on in the past, and a team dynamics session. After completing the other sessions, the recruiter came back to review the process. I inquired as to why all of the interviewers had been from a different team than I'd expected.

Turns out they made the decision to have me interview with the gambling app team, instead of the fantasy sports team as I'd originally expected. I consider this a bait and switch tactic, which I was not happy about.

Furthermore, the salary they were offering did not meet my expected range for the role.

I was given two convoluted screens from a chat app and asked how I would design them. They didn't seem capable of answering my questions about the designs and were unclear about their expectations. This was even despite my stopping multiple times to ask about requirements, whether my explanations were clear, and whether there were specific areas they wanted me to delve deeper into. Frankly, I wasn't particularly impressed with most of the interviewers. They seemed like their titles were inappropriate for their level of experience, and their English might have been a second language for them.
