Fun Projects, Strategy Doubts
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
August 26, 2024
Pros: Competitive pay.
People are nice to work with.
A true WFH culture that recognizes the importance of real F2F communication (a lot of offsites and opportunities to meet).
Fun projects.
Cons: I wish I had more faith in our leadership's strategy.
Sometimes people think we're a startup and try to act like it's a startup, but it's not really a startup.

Cons: Top-down planning, less innovation post-IPO. Still would recommend this place highly. I miss working there. :)

Pros: Dropbox puts so much focus on work-life balance, and there are many organizations throughout the company for all demographics. The culture of mentorship is also huge here, and you'll always find someone eager to help on your professional and personal development. I feel really cared about and supported as an individual.
Cons: Dropbox is Virtual First, which has its pros and cons.
Sometimes I miss interacting with people in an office setting, but they do their best to try and unite team members in quarterly in-person meetings.
