Most of the questions asked in the phone interview were theoretical and hypothetical in nature, which required multiple clarification questions. This was a poor way of analyzing a candidate's full set of abilities and, honestly, a lazy way of conducting an interview.

Pros: - I have never had trouble maintaining my work/life balance.
- I have been encouraged to take my time learning things well, even when it wouldn't immediately benefit my team.
- Has a respectable engineering review process for building new systems, so they are seldom totally harebrained (though they've overhauled this process a couple of times, so this might be out of date).
Cons: - Frequent re-orgs make it hard to know who's in charge of what.
- Leans heavily towards building its own systems rather than purchasing them or using OSS.
- High-level "company goals"-type communications tend to sound completely meaningless to me.
