Pros: Every few years, there is a company that, through its culture and network effects, gathers the most talented engineers in the valley to work on something. Dropbox is that place now. Having interned/visited other tech companies like Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Palantir, I have not seen another company with such a high concentration of very talented engineers and motivated employees.

Cons: The Dropbox office is a great place to be, and there are tons of cool people hanging around all the time. It might be hard to leave in the evening and have a life outside of work.

Pros: Dropbox is in the unique position of having many users with lots of data, but still being young enough to have interesting problems left to solve. I've learned much more from this job than from most jobs I've had. There is very little bureaucracy, and very little time is wasted in meetings. People devote lots of time to mentoring interns and helping new hires. This helped me to grow quickly soon after I started. Most people I've dealt with have very clearly communicated their expectations.

Cons: I don't feel like I fit into the culture very well. Some employees at Dropbox are quite "fratty". I enjoy being around the other engineers in this company, but I really dislike being around some of the sales and customer support people. I'm hoping that this changes as the company grows. Dropbox seems to be less centered around engineering than other tech companies I've worked at.
