Like many employees here, I came in large part for the mission: free language education for the world. It feels great to work for something that is truly meaningful to me. I also came here because the opportunities in online education are so exciting: we can develop and iterate on new and more effective ways to teach at a much larger scale than was ever possible before.
On top of that, the team here is top-notch, on par with tech giants like Google and Facebook. Anyone who has used Duolingo can tell that we have a stellar product team.
Lastly, Duolingo has a great culture -- it's a really fun place to work.
Hmmm, hard to think of anything. There are a lot of social events here -- I can't possibly participate in all of them.
Luis and Severin have built a fantastic company and are doing a great job growing it, making us profitable while staying true to the company's mission.
Straightforward OA and LC questions. Standard Codesignal General Coding Assessment. As for LC, just basic graph traversals and string/array manipulation should be enough. Behavioral was a little short though, so didn't get to share much. Overall,
Consisted of a CodeSignal OA (you can share previous scores). Then, a one-hour technical interview through Karat. The question difficulty was medium. The second technical interview was with a Duolingo SWE, and the question level was medium-hard.
Online coding assessment and then phone chat with recruiter. After that, there are a few rounds of interviews, including a pair programming section where you debug a piece of the codebase.
