I applied online and received an automated response, as is usual with many companies. A couple of days later, someone from their recruitment team contacted me by email. They stated they would review my application and contact me if there was a good match. In the meantime, they wanted to schedule a call to clarify the job role and introduce the company. Attached was a link to book the call.
I found this to be great and replied, appreciating their initiative. I also kindly asked if they could sponsor my visa. I didn't receive a reply. I booked the call for the following week.
I never received a reply from them. I began to doubt if they would even show up for the call. I had requested time off from my current job for this.
One hour before the booked time, the person who contacted me by email visited my LinkedIn profile. I assumed this person would be aware of the interview and would appear. They never did.
I sent emails to this person and also wrote to them through LinkedIn, apologizing for using it to ask this, but still, I never received a reply.
I would have understood if they didn't like my profile, or if they could not sponsor my visa, or for any other reason. However, I would have liked to have received a reply at least.
I requested permission from my job, I prepared, I was excited, and I spent time on this. I know this person may not represent the entire company, of course, but I really just wanted a reply, and I never got it. It was disappointing.
