Process

3 rounds:

  1. ML concepts + Online Coding:

    • Concepts around classification, evaluation metrics such as Precision, Recall, etc.
    • Moderate coding question. I was a bit relaxed when it came to the final evaluation, which was nice as they inferred that I knew the concepts but may have had confusion while articulating them.
  2. Take-home assignment (2 weeks' time):

    • Relatively easy, as we get time to think and come up with a robust solution. Ensure you present it clearly.
  3. System Design:

    • I thought it would be ML System Design, but it turned out to be more about concepts around scalable solutions, database sharding, etc., distributed design, and performance metrics such as latency and throughput.
    • I think they could have been slightly relaxed here, as this was mainly for a Machine Learning position. I could not manage this well.

Questions

Prior work of mine that stood out.

I think this is super subjective, in the sense that one might have just joined a project in their company in the middle and hence they might not have been there from the beginning. In this case, the quality of the answer gets compromised. I think this ought to be relaxed as well.
