I applied online and got a call on the phone from a recruiter to briefly discuss my experience, the company, and the role. This was about two weeks after applying.
I was then scheduled for a call with the hiring manager within the week. During this interview, I was asked to talk in detail about my experience, and the hiring manager had a list of technical questions prepared from which he was selecting randomly. They were all fair questions based on the job listing and requirements. The job listing mentioned application security, and questions were asked about this. Unfortunately, my skills were a bit rusty after taking a break, so I was not able to answer some of these as expected.
At the end of the interview, the hiring manager gave me direct feedback about my answers, so I got to know and understand the outcome and reasons fast. I did not progress to the next stage.
