Software Engineer Interview Experience - Amsterdam, Netherlands

December 1, 2016

Process

The intake took place through Skype, with one interviewer asking me questions.

It started out okay, with Java-related questions, but quickly veered into questions about database configurations. I'm not a DBA, nor did I pretend to be, so I thought this was a rather strange move.

Questions

Explain how threads work in Java.

Explain how to configure load-balancing between database instances.

eBay Work Experiences

Better than what I expected

Software Engineer • Former Employee

Pros: The intern work staff is awesome at setting events, housing everyone relatively close, and making your summer super enjoyable.

Cons: eBay is going through some massive changes. Sometimes the hierarchy prevents you from getting anything done. In another aspect, it's good because you can make some cool stuff in light of innovation.
