They never reimbursed my interview expenses, even after many follow-up emails. I did a lot of onsite interviews.
This is my only experience without getting reimbursed, and I received no response from the recruiters and interview coordinators. They did book the hotel for me, but they did not prepay for the room.
If they are flying you for the on-site interviews, be prepared to afford all interview expenses (hotel, meals, and rental car/Uber, etc.) on your own, as they won't reimburse you.
