Referred by a friend, I had two phone interviews followed by an onsite interview in California.
Overall, the experience was great. The hiring manager was nice, and the interviewers were all pleasant as well.
However, I had a very negative experience with the recruiter at the end. I had to bargain very hard for a small salary increase, as he seemed to be thinking very cheaply, having worked for a small company for a long time. He directly refused to match my other offer without even speaking to the hiring manager.
I was 100% sure that the hiring manager would have tried to match the offer, as I felt I made a good impression on him and he knew the excellent friend who referred me. Unfortunately, the recruiter jeopardized everything, and I had to accept another offer due to a deadline.
After I signed the other offer, the recruiter called, wanting to offer me a higher salary.
The interview questions are not hard.
