I was referred by my friend and first spoke with a recruiter about my skills and school projects. Two days later, I had two one-hour technical screen interviews with software engineers.
Some days later, I was scheduled for a Skype loop interview with engineers and a manager.
The phone interviews went well; the interviewers were very nice, patient, and friendly. However, two of the interviewers in the loop interview were extremely arrogant.
No matter what I said (during the coding portion, I was trying to express my thought process about the question), one interviewer simply responded with silence and no feedback at all. In the last 5 or 10 minutes, we discussed the culture and position at eBay, and I received some uncomfortable answers.
Three days later, I received a rejection email, though I believed I solved all the technical problems correctly. I have no idea why.
Nothing unexpected. Basic concepts about RESTful web services, data structures (hashtable and collision), algorithms, and some coding challenges (tree, searching, array...).
