I had a screener phone call with a recruiter. They told me I would be doing a coding interview with "leetcode type questions," and the interview prep I was provided said the same thing.
Half of my coding interview consisted of the interviewer asking me technical questions, which I was not prepared for because I had focused on studying LeetCode. The last half involved the interviewer freely assessing my coding skills; it seemed like they were making up questions on the spot (what they asked wasn't even something you would ever see on LeetCode or CodeSignal).
This was really disorganized, and there was clearly a disconnect between the recruiter and the interviewer.
