There is no reason to report to any QA manager. The reason is that they felt so insecure because they don't have anything to do apart from micromanagement or internal politics.

Please get rid of QA managers in the whole organization. They never add any value to the team, apart from micromanagement, and good resources leave the organization whenever they are present.
