Good Salary and Work Environment
NO JOB SECURITY.
Office politics.
Poor work-life balance.
Okay, so I was a recent college graduate who was hired in August 2014.
I was given a good offer, a joining bonus, and everything.
We had a one-week orientation; it was great. All the leaders of eBay spoke about the future of the company, and the CEO himself addressed how "eBay and PayPal together as one company is going to impact millions of people across the globe." A lot of things were said about moving forward as one company. Blah, blah, blah.
And within a month, we heard the opposite: PayPal is spinning off from eBay, and it's for the better future of both companies. It's exactly the opposite of what I heard in the orientation about a month ago.
But here comes the fun part. Within six months, I was laid off from the company. Not just me, but the whole team, which had a number of recent college graduates.
I have seen companies laying off senior people with 10+ years of experience, but eBay just did the opposite. How could you lay off people who just joined you straight out of college?
Well, they gave us good severance, but our priority is job security, not money!
It's hard for a rookie to understand all the management strategies, and it's really not fair to send recent college graduates home.
Anyways, I don't think any recent college graduate would want to join eBay after this, and this has definitely not sent a good message to the student community.
I hope eBay recovers from this loss soon.
I described myself in the beginning, then I answered some coding questions. I asked some follow-up questions to the interviewer, and I received answers. The coding part went well. I took time to get the code working.

I received a call from a consultant regarding a job opportunity. After submitting my resume, Ebay got back to me for a phone interview. The phone interview was only 15 minutes long.
