When I was approached by a very enthusiastic and competent recruiter on LinkedIn, I wasn’t really looking to move companies, but this gentleman really did make the role appealing to me. So, I went along with the interview process and became absolutely hooked on the role. Elastic seemed like an amazing company to work for, and the role sounded very promising.
After a 1:2:1 with the hiring manager and a panel interview, including a live demo, I received amazing feedback and had high hopes for the role, all of which to then be told that the role scope/spec had been changed halfway through the process, which ultimately made the role technically too demanding.
The role I had successfully interviewed for and put a great deal of prep into was then effectively no longer being hired for as such, which has left me disappointed, disheartened, and somewhat puzzled, really.
