The selection consisted of a one-and-a-half-hour translation test from English to Italian.
If you pass the test, they call you for an interview, which lasted almost two hours, with questions about hypothetical situations and how I would behave in those circumstances.
The problem is that for any answer I gave, they would introduce some kind of obstacle and in the end, they would force me to change my answer. For example: "you have a deadline you won't meet, what would you do?"
I said: "I would inform my supervisor and explain the situation, and if there were no solution, I would stay for overtime."
Their response: "You are alone, there's no one in the office, and you cannot do overtime."
I said again: "Well, I would try to contact someone by phone."
They: "You cannot do that."
Honestly, I don't know if it was a test to see how creative I could be or if they didn't like my answers.
What I didn't like is that in the end, they forced me to say things I wouldn't do, like "forcing the whole team to use my work method when they prefer someone else's," because when I said "Present my work method and explain and show why it's better, but if they still prefer to use the other colleague's, I will adapt to the team's needs," it didn't go well.
After 30 minutes, it was clear that I was not comfortable in the interview and that the interviewer was not liking my answers, but he still kept me for another hour and a half answering these hypothetical situations.
All this for a salary of €1,200 gross, to test video games.
In fact, I didn't understand what many questions had to do with the position.
It seemed like an interview for a director or manager.
Apart from all the hypothetical, unsolvable situations, at the beginning they asked me: Have you played any EA Games? What kind of video games do you like?
