Pros
  • Tight development team gets things done on a hurried schedule.
  • Full-time employees get good perks, especially if located at headquarters.
  • Creative minds on the development team lead to a quality product, when given the resources and time.
Cons
  • PR & Marketing dominate the development cycle, leading to games being released before they are necessarily ready for the masses.
  • Contracted employees are excluded from most perks.
  • Massive overtime is required well before "crunch time," leading to work/life balance issues.
