Pros

Usually good people.

Pretty easy job, if you don't mind the process of writing reports and staring at the computer/TV screen all day.

  • 401k
  • Health benefits through contracting company
Cons
  • Staring at the same video game for 8 hours a day.
  • Three-month furlough between contracts is brutal without proper preparation.
  • Mentally exhausting after several months of writing reports and staring at the computer/TV screen.
  • Little room for advancement, without getting buddy-buddy with the higher-ups.
  • Full-time job opportunities are usually at other studios in other states (my contract was at the Louisiana studio).
Advice to Management

Need more opportunities for advancement to get out of contracting positions. Not everyone can sustain themselves for three months between each yearly contract.
