The atmosphere is very laid back and fun. Most of the people you interact with are friendly and helpful. Pay starts off pretty good. The policies in place are great for employees. If you have a sudden emergency, it is easy to get the day off. Hours can be flexible depending on your position, and you get good experience working on something you're passionate about.
There is a "hierarchy" where RFT employees are valued more than contractors, and there's a palpable feeling where you are looked down upon as a contractor. It's very, very difficult to become a Regular Full Time employee unless you become popular with important people. Getting RFT essentially seems to have to do with just knowing the right people at the right time. You can be very skilled in your area and overlooked easily.
I did not receive any "actual training" when I first started, and I did not know that I was not properly trained until my contract was almost over. Hours can be very long (sometimes until 2 a.m.) depending on release, but it's expected.
Try to get rid of that "boys club/popularity contest" atmosphere that there is.
I had a few interviews on Zoom about the position, my background, and my knowledge of the company. The whole process took from August, when I first applied through LinkedIn, to November, when I had the job offer.
Pleasant and simple interview to check that you know the company and a bit about the work in question that the interview is about. Some more specific questions on how to solve problems that may arise.
Very quick, easy, and well communicated. The process took less than a week. Everyone was friendly. It was almost entirely through e-mail, except for the Zoom interview. I felt as though communication was always open despite this.
