I started talking to the recruiter in early August 2022. My conversation with them was pleasant. They answered a lot of questions I had and established how the process would go.
There was a bit of delay in getting a call with the hiring manager scheduled. However, within about two weeks, I had my interview call with the hiring manager for the position. Some extra time was also allotted to get through the standard interview questions they were using.
They seemed a bit underprepared, but it happens. This happened at the end of August 2022, and I was told I would be contacted about next steps soon after.
I'm writing this at almost the mid-part of October 2022, and I've yet to hear anything from them. Based on the timeline given to me, I was about two-thirds of the way through their process. It all seemed to be going fine, and the pay range for the position was really good.
It makes it sting even more to just be ghosted that far into interviewing for it. A complete waste of my time, as well as theirs. How things turned out in the end is the main reason I marked this experience as negative. You'd expect a company the size of Epic to at least have a solid recruitment process in place. Give folks the closure they deserve if they aren't fit for a role. Don't just ghost them.
