I never got an actual interview with Epic. I applied online and then, within less than a day, they scheduled a role introduction on Zoom. In this introduction, I was by myself and the camera was off. It was just to learn about the job role.
The only time I spoke was at the end of the PowerPoint presentation to ask them questions. After that, they scheduled my assessments. I was never given a phone interview, nor did they ask me any questions about my resume. I waited about 8 days for a rejection from them.
This process was entirely different from others' experiences for the same position, including my significant other’s. I do feel that they strung me along, as they never gave me the opportunity to talk to them or have an actual phone interview. I asked the recruiter if he knew why my experience was different, and he dodged the question entirely.
I’m an English major, and they do consider all backgrounds, but I felt like they didn’t take me seriously.
None; it was only difficult because they didn’t actually interview me. If they weren’t interested, they shouldn’t have dragged me along, considering they didn’t give me a fair opportunity. I’m very disappointed in this company, especially considering my significant other and I are moving to Madison for them. Highly unprofessional.
