Consisted of a phone interview (non-technical) and an online skills assessment.
The phone interview was a general interview where they asked about your resume and confirmed various things, such as relocation to Madison, WI. It was also for you to ask them questions.
The skills assessment was a very annoying and painful process. It felt like I was taking an exam, like the SAT, not an online coding assessment. You were monitored the whole time, and you had to share your screen and microphone input.
The coding part was fairly easy, but you did not have a coding environment; it was basically coding in plain text, which was quite peculiar for an online assessment. There were other parts of the skills assessment that were very unnecessary and contributed to why I hated the experience. There were categories that basically consisted of something like an IQ test. There was also a math section.
Overall, it did not feel like a process that is very good in determining whether someone is a good software engineer. It felt more annoying and painful than difficult.
A colorful number is one where the number can be broken into different contiguous subsequence parts. For example, the number 3245 can be broken into parts like 3, 2, 4, 5, 32, 24, 45, 324, and 245. This number is colorful because the product of the digits of every contiguous subsequence is different.
