Applied through the career fair at the university in February 2017. They were really impressed with my background and current work, and I got selected for the interview process.
The first round was a telephonic call with a technical recruiter. This was probably one of my most intense technical phone interviews.
He asked me a lot about my background mainly, and then we drifted towards my research project, which was machine learning-based.
He liked the idea quite a lot but questioned me about a lot of things related to my research work.
I got the impression that he didn't like me so much, but towards the end of the interview, he said, "You'll get an email from HR for the next steps in the interview process very soon."
Moving on from the phone interview, the next round of interview was one of the weirdest interviews I've ever given.
They basically hired a company that gets access to your webcam on your laptop, and somebody in the Philippines was looking at you constantly.
They even made me do a room check for any kind of cheating material.
It took an hour to get everything set up, but after that, there were a bunch of analytical questions, and then finally programming questions (which you can look up by doing a simple search on Google for "epic interview questions"; I don't remember the questions anymore).
I'm pretty sure I did pretty well in the interview, but the fact that I was an international student bugged them, and eventually, I received a reject after 2-3 weeks.
Good luck to all the local candidates!
Questions can be looked up on Careercup. They have a bunch of analytical and programming questions on there as well.
