Epic reached out to me on Handshake, a platform similar to LinkedIn sponsored by my university. They conducted a phone interview during which they talked about the company culture and the flexibility of many of the roles at the company.

A technical assessment followed a few weeks later, during which I was asked to solve a series of programming problems which seemed to revolve around specific algorithms, which I did not have a strong background in. I was able to choose between several languages to code my answers.

Following the assessment, they informed me they did not intend to extend an offer for this role, but encouraged me to apply for another position. I did not follow up as I did not desire the other role.
