Software Engineer Interview Experience - Verona, Wisconsin

Process

Interview started with a quick recruiter call to discuss my background, experience, and interest in Epic. I answered any questions I had about the position and work at the company.

Next round was a proctored online technical exam; expect it to be at least 3-4 hours in length. It consisted of 3 rounds:

  • One extremely quick round of logic / math questions.
  • Answering questions about a fictional programming language.
  • Finally, a few programming questions without the aid of a compiler.

The proctor was a bit difficult and would harass me about looking off to the side (I was just thinking).

Final round was a presentation about Epic's software with several other interviewees, a group QA session, an easy system design round, then a final discussion with a recruiter. Have good questions prepared and be social; the onsite is mostly a personality test.

After I received the offer, I was given the option to tour Epic's campus, which I did. It's a nice location but gave off the impression of being a stressed-out corporate Disneyland.

Recruiter was extremely helpful and transparent, guiding me throughout the entire process. They were patient and gave me plenty of time to make a decision on the offer.
