I started the Epic Application Process by sending in my resume for the Project Manager/Implementation Consultant position. I was emailed a link to a Rembrandt short test and then, a week or so later, I had a phone interview. I was really quite impressed with my phone interviewer. The man had his PhD in Economics and really loved Epic. About two weeks later, I took a three-part exam that was proctored at my university. The exam consisted of some math/English/computer programming (you don't have to know computer science beforehand—the instructions walk you through it) and a logic game similar to the LSAT. About two weeks later, I was invited to the Epic on-site interview and also told that I was being considered for an additional role as a software tester/quality assurance analyst. Three weeks later, I flew to Madison (Epic paid for the flights and my hotel).
I was pretty overwhelmed when I got to my interview. There were at least 20 other recruits for various positions being interviewed on the same day. I was also surprised by the superfluous decorations, especially the adult slide. However, everyone I interviewed with, presented to, or chatted with was extremely nice. Even the secretaries at the front desk were incredibly friendly. I had four hours between the end of my interview and my flight home, so I went for a run and showered at Epic afterwards (yes, they have showers there)! One secretary was nice enough to walk me to the locker room! The interviews themselves I didn't find very challenging compared to other companies.
About a week and a half later, I was offered the QA position.
