Work-life balance is hard to manage if you're a consultant. Plan to spend lots of hours on the road and finishing up work at a hotel.
Stop burning out your overachievers. Spend less money on castles and fancy buildings. They are great to have, but just having an office is more than most other companies give employees—and you already do that.
More spot bonuses or some way to show appreciation. In four years, I got only one spot bonus. That was for working 1.5 months at 80+ hour weeks. I had to ask for it.
