Pros
  • Great culture
  • Wear what you want, some flexibility in hours, campus is gorgeous
  • Lots of independence
  • Everybody's young (it's a pro if you are too)
  • Tasty food
Cons
  • Long hours, high expectations.
  • Working 60+ hours is the norm for many; burnout is common.
  • A high level of self-motivation and self-direction is essential.
  • Team placement seems arbitrary.
    • Business majors working on the database, people with ambulatory backgrounds working on inpatient, etc.
  • Middle management varies in quality.
    • The company promotes those who are good at their jobs, but this does not necessarily mean they will make good managers.
Advice to Management

Slow down the growth if possible. People are overworked. New hires are ending up in roles they don't belong in. New managers are getting promoted who don't belong as managers.
