Able to get involved in projects outside of your team. Flexibility for when to come in every day and leave every day. It's nice to work an extra hour Monday and Tuesday and leave two hours early on Friday if you have to travel anywhere.
Work-life balance can depend a lot on your team and your TL. Some TLs bend over backwards to make unrealistic deadlines work, and others tell you to protect your free time. If it can't be done in 40 hours, then it won't be done.
Working weekends can be depressingly common on some teams, especially late in release. Working 50-hour weeks to finish up doesn't mean you can work any less than 40 the following week to avoid burnout on most teams. Being salaried just means no overtime, not that you can ever work less than 40 without catching insane amounts of flak.
Don't make promises to customers that will take an unrealistic and nigh impossible amount of manpower to finish in the given deadlines.
