My coworkers are amazing.
They are the ones who help in a crunch, the ones who scramble to keep up with changes when upper management inevitably drops a bomb on us. Each and every person I work with is competent, hard-working, and dependable. That is, in my opinion, what sets Epic apart.
Upper management is wildly out of touch. The company's COVID response was abysmal. Most every coworker I talked to was unhappy with the requirement to return to work after competently working from home for a year, yet upper management continued to gaslight employees by implying they heard nothing but excitement from their employees about returning to work. When employees attempted to have their voices heard, this input was swiftly silenced by taking away many public avenues for employees to discuss concerns. Instead, employees were directed to an email address to send our concerns into the abyss. The outright refusal of upper management to take their employees' concerns to heart and enact actual change in policies is mind-boggling to me. It really makes you feel like a dispensable cog in the machine.
Dozens of other big-name tech companies are realizing that flexible work-from-home policies are effective and necessary to retain tenured employees and boost worker happiness.
Epic – Please take a look at the hundreds of other sentiments that are similar to mine, and really consider the ways in which Epic can evolve to meet employees' needs, recruit new talent, and retain tenured employees such as myself in a quickly evolving tech world.
It was a long day of interviews. I enjoyed seeing the campus and eating the food. I like the food a lot and think it is delicious. The food is so tasty; it tastes really good.
1. Personality quiz 2. Phone interview 3. Assessment Test. After the process, they let you know if they are continuing with the hiring process. I made it past a second-round phone interview but did not receive an offer.
One super day at their campus. One case study per job you are looking at (I interviewed for both Project Manager and Quality Assurance). Several discussions with people from each field as well.
