You can jump right in and work on big projects, and work with CMIOs at large organizations. You can earn great work experience within a few months of hiring.
Epic likes to say it has a flat hierarchy, but team leads often get a ton of authority, with very little oversight. If you get a good team lead, you're fine. Otherwise, you are miserable, have no opportunity for career advancement, and asking to transfer teams is not an option.
Epic has a lot of perks that come with being a "casual" work environment. You can wear jeans, there are coffee carts throughout campus, and the campus itself is beautiful. But casual also means that meetings start 5-10 minutes late, deadlines are either never set or never met, and you'll use OneNote and note paper rather than any kind of project management software.
Come to grips with being a large company and start working on the culture and management style. What worked when we were small isn't working now.
