As a pretty large Midwestern tech company, they strive to be fun and laid back like the big companies out West. They do a pretty nice job of it, with the added benefit of many Midwesterners working there, which makes for an incredibly friendly, personable workforce.
As an intern, I felt a little bit lost in the rough. It is a huge company, and they have a pretty good leadership and mentorship structure. However, Team Leads were very busy with full-time workers and didn't seem entirely invested in the intern projects, even if they were happy to help out.
Perhaps it would be helpful to have Team Leads who are specially trained to work with interns.
