The campus is really beautiful, full of artworks of all kinds.
If you're tired from work, you can just walk around the campus and relax.
The food is definitely top-tier. Epic emphasizes that employees get what they pay for, so they charge employees only for the raw materials, but nothing else.
I can have a steak for $5, and it was awesome.
There is a good work-life balance at Epic and around Madison. Lots of places to go to if you have a car.
I was disappointed that Epic does not own the medical data, so it was hard to do machine learning tasks. There's a long process to get the real data, especially as an intern.
That doesn't apply to anyone who works more on front end. Front-end software engineers don't need to worry about the data so much.
Overall, I think Epic managed to make the internship a positive experience for everyone. Interns get to work on what really matters.
