Pros

The food is pretty good.

Cons
  • Waterfall project management.
  • Old and difficult tech stack.
  • The codebase is a big mudball, and it takes forever to fix even the simplest bugs.
  • Over 40 hours/week.
  • Unreasonable expectations.
  • No teamwork; you're on your own.
  • No trust.
  • Software developers aren't really developers, since they spend more time managing projects and collecting business requirements than working in code.
Advice to Management

An organization that is focused on health should also focus on its employees' health and wellbeing. This includes mental health and work-life balance. An employee shouldn't need to sacrifice everything for their work. Structure the organization so it makes logical sense. Stop trying to preserve a culture that isn't worth preserving.
