The interns actually get to have a say in their project design, which is nice. Everyone gets a sizable office to share with one other intern, too. Each team of 2-4 interns has its own mentor for advice, which is also a plus. The pay is nice, too, and there are a lot of intern activities outside of work hours.
My specific project was a case of the team lead having an idea in mind and not communicating it well. The training could be better; there are plenty of internal manuals you can find, but you've got to hunt for them a bit.
Either have a clear design already in mind and give it to the interns, or let them run free. But don't let them run free and then tell them to scrap a day's work and try again because it didn't match where you wanted them to run.
