Pros

Good pay compared to the cost of living in Madison. Subsidized food. Beautiful campus.

Cons

The technologies used here are very outdated (Visual Basic 6, Microsoft deprecated this long ago). Mumps DB (to put it simply, it is storing data into global variables, oops! can you imagine that?). The management is very disorganized. You will be rated based on the number of hours and the number of lines of code you write. Despite the bad technologies, the codebase is completely messed up. The issues you solve will make your developer life a living hell. There are no clues about what is happening and why it is happening in the code. If you are a person who is passionate about coding and software development, please don't join this company!

Advice to Management

People struggle a lot to get into good schools. For the crappy work you do, you don't have to pick developers from good schools (abroad and inside the US). You are just spoiling their careers for your greed!
