  • Helpful and intelligent coworkers
  • Good compensation
  • Epic's code does help save lives
Cons

Unlike its code, Epic's COVID policies end lives. Yes, Epic is requiring that all 10,000 of its employees return to campus over the next 2 months, even as cases are spiking in Dane County.

Bad PTO and parental leave. PTO is 2 weeks for the first 2 years, then 3 weeks. You can buy more, but that is still quite limited. Parental leave is at 60% pay, is limited to 2 children who must be spaced at least 3 years apart, and must be repaid if you leave the company within a year.

Repression of employees, especially during COVID: questions or concerns about COVID are banned from internal discussion forums. There is no transparency over the decision to return to campus, and employees are scared to speak up for fear of retribution.

Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people.
