For a software engineer, the technology that you'll work with is often old. This is except for a few teams that use new and cool technology. However, the chances that you'll get into those teams are slim.
It's difficult to get a job elsewhere, not just in the healthcare industry but also in other software companies, because of the old technology that few people use.
