Working Here Has Been Fun for Me
All in all, I really do enjoy what I do as a software developer at Epic. I feel like I am good at what I do, and the work is satisfying. My Team Lead is a Software Developer as well, and I can ask him about both technical and logistical questions.
There is no real discourse between upper management and employees. Everything must go up the chain of command.
Decisions from upper management can seem arbitrary and sometimes insulting because of this.
It can be easy to work more than 40 hours a week if you let it happen.
Epic needs to listen to its employees more. At the end of the day, we are what makes this great. If you want the best software to sell, then you will want to attract the best talent. You won't get this just by paying employees better salaries. You need to treat them better than other companies too.
