This is a fraudulent company. They conduct the interview process for a higher position, but at the time of negotiation, they offer a lower position so that they can offer a lower CTC.
The interview process consisted of 4 technical rounds and 1 HR round. All rounds were of average difficulty and easy to clear with some effort. At the end of the last round, I received a call from HR stating that I was selected and needed to submit my payslips, hike letter, etc. I submitted all the requested documents.
In the evening, HR called me for CTC negotiation. After hearing about my current hike, HR suddenly mentioned they were offering me a lower position, SDE 1. This was not mentioned at any point during the entire process.
Furthermore, when HR called me after the interview to say I was selected, she did not mention the offer of a lower position.
This company uses tactics to lure good candidates and then employs this cheap trick.
