I had a very short time in this company, just 2 years. However, this company is full of politics, has little work ethic, and makes it hard to provide work-life balance. Overall, it's not a great place to work.
Local managers are incapable and are creating an environment that will go against the company.
I worked with Expedia NOC in Gurgaon for more than 2 years. My experience with this company was worst, specifically to NOC. Never did I have a work-life balance. Everyday we extended our shifts just to save our jobs.
After the recent change in management style, the situation became worse. Some individuals were promoted to the level of manager without having even basic management skills, and with even worse previous performance. These individuals are just doing threat management.
Everyday, they give threats to junior employees, using the name of Sr. Leadership. They say if junior employees don't do what they personally want, they will be "Asked to leave." This is because leadership gave clear instructions to these managers: “Fire anyone” they want.
Making personal comments on gender, race, and religion are very often. A junior-level employee passes through several rounds of interviews. However, to be a manager, you just need to take some specific directors on leisure trips, like to Agra, Jaipur, or local sightseeing in Delhi, on your personal expense, and you will be a manager.
Work ethics is almost NIL.
When someone from leadership pays a visit from the USA, these managers start threatening junior employees. They warn them not to say anything against them, otherwise they will be fired. They also make sure leaders do not get time to meet junior employees.
Female employees feel insecure and are mostly offended by personal comments.
Overall, I had a worst time working with this department, and I would recommend ignoring Expedia in your career path.
Top leadership is totally lost and cut off after the recent change in management style, which has overpowered the local managers. These managers are incapable and heavily involved in misutilizing company money and resources in the name of the team. They are not able to deliver anything and constantly look to fire anyone who raises their voice against their bad practices and behavior. If leadership really wants to save this company's culture and values, they should talk with employees at the lower level and closely monitor these newly appointed managers. Thank God, I am no longer with this company; otherwise, I would not have the courage to write this true feedback.
Solid experience in the hiring and interview process. Much of it had to do with my background, which was odd considering it was an interview. Then again, I suppose it wasn't odd at all.
I interviewed with the person I was replacing (awkward), who later sued for not receiving an annual bonus. Two managers and another peer, who talked about her parrot the whole time, interviewed me. A peer manager admitted he liked me but wasn't sur
Very long and exhausting. After six rounds, there were no offers, so I am very disappointed. Whatever they said they would ask in the interview, they did not. Instead, they asked everything else. Some questions were rude, and some were nice.
