Pros

Systems and processes are so archaic that there is ample opportunity to improve, if you can get senior leadership to support you.

Cons

Promotes men who barely work and ignores women who keep the place running.

Before COVID, my VP refused to support any working from home arrangement, saying people wouldn't really work. Funny how the company kept going with everyone working from home.

Technology platform is archaic and cannot scale.

Executive leadership allows teams to duplicate efforts, wasting resources/money, and actually encourages the duplication. If they consolidated and worked together, Expedia would possess better technology and save hundreds of millions.

Advice to Management

When COVID lifts, continue to support partial work-from-home arrangements. Stop believing the smarmy men who make pretty presentations full of fluff but actually do no work. Instead, look at the hard-working individuals who actually deliver and possess innovative ideas.
