Got contacted through email, asked HR to call me to discuss more.
The HR did not call, simply sent a HACKER RANK test link. I replied again, and then HR asked for my number, called me, and we talked briefly for 2 minutes. She was rushing during that time span as well. We discussed salary, and they said they were okay. So, I said I would give the test now.
Test link was sent on Sunday at 4 pm and should have been completed that night only. Earlier, she told me the interview would be on Wednesday.
I was impressed by the company on Glassdoor and other platforms, so I gave the exam. It had questions finding anagrams and one more DP problem, with other questions based on the profile which was Kubernetes, Docker, and microservice architecture.
I gave the test and sent her an email, all done. She said I cleared the exam and would send the interview details. The next day, without giving any reason, she said Wednesday was not possible; please come on Tuesday. She was not asking me but giving me an order. Again, she was rushing and had no proper communication skills.
I went for the interview. To my shock, there was no name of "F5 Networks" on any board. The location is too far from main IT hubs. Then I called the HR again. She was like, "Yeah, there's no board; you come to this floor."
I went there with more surprise. Even at the entrance, there was only "Innominds" written on a board at the reception. I kept waiting for the HR; she came after 15 minutes. And no "Hi, Hello"; she simply asked me for my resume and said, "Please wait for 2 minutes."
Interview F2F: So, the interviewer took a look at my profile and started with my educational background. How you went to NIT, what was your rank, and all unnecessary things which were not needed. You are not hiring me based on my AIR but on my skills, obviously. Now, I have experience of 7+ years and a good track record. He said, "Our time, I got this rank," something something he was talking.
Now, the interviewer asked me for Merge Sort implementation on a whiteboard, to design a lift, some microservices questions, "Why functional programming?" "Why your organization is not using Kubernetes/Docker for microservices?" This is such a lame question. I gave him an explanation, but don't they understand that I'm not the CTO or the owner of the company? He said, "This framework provides this capability of service registry and discovery automatically." (I was thinking, I know, but it's not a 5-10 people company. I can't just go and say, 'Hey, change this architecture; implement, let's use Kubernetes, cloud, and all new fancy things.')
Interview lasted for 45-55 minutes. He was getting calls in between.
After that, he went and searched for HR; she was not around. Then, after some time, she called me and asked, "Did he ask you to leave? Where are you now?" I said, "I'm back now; done with the interview. Please update me on the status." No update. Such unprofessional and such poor communication skills I have not seen of any HR in life.
Sent her a message the next day and an email if there was any update. Still no response. Then, after 8 days, I called her. She said you could not clear the interview.
So, this was my experience with them. So, guys, decide yourself. HR was the most disappointing throughout this whole process.
Mergesort, elevator system design, microservices, functional programming: why?
